Operation Smile began in the United States in 1982 with a commitment to delivering life-changing cleft surgery and comprehensive care to patients around the world. In 2011, Operation Smile Canada was born from that promise — helping thousands of children receive bright new smiles and new futures full of possibilities.

Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate. And an estimated 5 million people around the globe are living with untreated cleft conditions.
